We’ve all been holding our breath for the perfect island getaway — but for New Englanders who aren’t yet able to hop on a plane to faraway places, an island vacation can be just around the corner. Here are a few of our favorite islands just a stone’s throw away from Boston.

Martha’s Vineyard is one of the most iconic New England summer getaway spots. Think: lobster rolls, clam bakes and scenic bike rides along the island coast. The local sites include Whaling Captains’ houses, the iconic Jaws Bridge and the host of celebrities and politicians who make the island their summer getaway. Martha’s Vineyard is far more laidback than its neighbor, Nantucket, making it an ideal destination for friends and family alike.

For a more upscale island trip, check out Nantucket. This idyllic island is accessible only by ferry, and there’s Vineyard Vine shorts and mansions as far as the eye can see. Speaking of mansions, Nantucket is the perfect place to daydream of your future home; it boasts of the highest concentration of pre-Civil War homes in the United States, many of which are set along 82 miles of pristine coastline.

Far less assuming and well-known than Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket is Block Island. This small island is a 30-minute ferry ride from Point Judith, Rhode Island, and its top sites include the majestic Mohegan Bluffs and pristine Mansion Beach, but we’d recommend renting a moped and puttering around the quaint town.

No matter where you decide to spend your weekends this summer, we’re looking forward to escorting you on your business trips and vacations. Our Covid-19-safe vehicles are ready to get you to and from the airport quickly and safely.
