The country is opening up, but many still worry about coronavirus, especially as new variants emerge and spread. While the sun is still warm, there are still plenty of fun things to do while staying safe.
As of August 27th, face masks are required in all indoor public settings in Boston due to the emerging Delta variant. For those who love the water, the Provincetown Ferry is a great way to take in Boston’s glorious skyline and harbor islands. For those who want a bit more substance, Boston Harbor City Cruises has a historic sightseeing cruise, which takes off from the Long Wharf daily. During this 90-minute tour, you’ll learn all about the Revolutionary War, sea legends and local characters.
Boston Common is one of the most iconic locations in the city, and there are still plenty of Covid-safe things to do. The Boston Common Frog Pound Carousel, for example, is open every day, and they’ve taken precautions such as mask requirements, hand sanitizer and regular cleaning. The Boston Common Visitor Center is also open, which lets visitors book tours, buy souvenirs and learn more about Boston.
Franklin Park Zoo is one of the Boston area’s treasures. The zoo itself will have online timed reservation slots so that visitors can maintain a social distance and comply with health guidelines. Indoor exhibits are still closed, which includes the Bird’s World building and the Tropical Forest, which is home to Western lowland gorillas, ring-tailed lemurs, pygmy hippos, and giant anteater.
