Yesterday, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced 1,586 newly confirmed Covid-19 cases. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 801,567. The seven-day weighted average of positive tests in the state is 1.84%.

The state’s Department of Public Health also confirmed 23 additional deaths due to Covid-19, bringing the total to 18,671, and 509 current hospitalizations, with 147 in intensive care.

The state is currently 69% fully vaccinated, and 80% partially vaccinated.

Last week, Massachusetts started receiving doses of pediatric Covid-19 vaccines, and Gov. Charlie Baker says he doesn’t “anticipate any supply issues”; parents can begin making appointments for kids age 5 to 11 to become eligible.
